Kookaburras!
I've been thrilled today to hear a family of kookaburras chortling away in the front garden. I've heard them nearby only a couple of times in the last 3 years.

Kookaburras are among my favourite birds too, but unfortunately it has been a long time since any visited this suburban garden.
ReplyDeleteCatmint, there are just a few as close to the city as along the Yarra in Toorak/Burnley, and in Hawthorn near Wallen Road, and in Burnley College gardens. I've also seen a giant monitor lizard and a robin redbreast there.
