Nest Box

Due to some unknown 'X factor', or perhaps the faulty electrical wiring to the house I live in, my computer will occasionally switch itself off. Sometimes, as lately, it will refuse to come back on for a couple of days. What impertinence! I have, however, had more time to weed and mulch ( which I won't show you ), and make what I can from what I find, as here...

  1. Hello Faisal:
This is our favourite piece to date. Please, please do not say that this will be dismantled or destroyed. Beautifully constructed, marvellously textural with contrasting and complementary materials and framed with the twigs, this is a work of pure delight.

We should be very surprised if some feathered friend does not move in!

  2. Hello Jane and Lance,
You're way too kind. MOST of this piece - gulp - is still intact...
( Feathered friends are always welcome, as long as they're not tarred as well...)

  3. Since I have a thing for nests and sticks, I love this!! I would have to have indoors. Around here the various rodent population would destroy it within 24 hours!
From what bird is the spotted/speckled feather?
Here it would most likely be a woodpecker.
    Just lovely Faisal!

  4. Hi Meggs, I'm afraid I can't identify the feather. What's more, I've had it so long, I can't remember where I found it. I'm glad there's someone else who likes sticks...I find them endlessly fascinating - well, any wood, or anything coming from trees. Thanks so much for your goodwill.

  8. You are lucky, Demie, to live near a forest...I wish I was surrounded by one, instead of by suburbia. Thankyou.

  10. Thankyou, Stephie...it's always nice to know you can do something to give happiness to others. The limerick I had enormous fun writing - Jane and Lance are incredibly entertaining and NICE. We had some delicious sunshine yesterday, but today has been greyer. I used to love winter, but now, these days, I long for the sun. Have a great weekend, Stephie - Faisal.
