About Me

My photo
Gardener in the Distance
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia
A garden-maker who values garden-making as a art-form and as a sanctified connection to a broader purpose and stewardship and as an expression of beauty; a sometime writer and poet, an assembler of visual and sculptural compositions, a bookseller. I like a humane originality, quiet sorts of spaces and wildness. This blog covers work in my own garden, visits to wherever I'm inspired to go and representations - visual, literary or theatrical - of my feeling, depending on climates interior and exterior. I'm interested in site-specific design, land-art, environmental integrity and sculptural forms originating from nature. I am also interested in ideas of rescue and revival as they apply to damaged landscapes and gardens, in aesthetics, and in the spiritual origin, the spiritual reality of all life.
